Orientation Program on “Importance of Internship and Planning for your Career”
Mandsaur University organized a session on “Importance of Internship and Planning for your Career” on 19 August 2025 for the students of the university. The session was taken by Mr. Dayal Das Maheshwari, Independent Consultant, Former Vice President of Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd. Gaziabad. The session was designed to equip students with the necessary skills and mind-set for a successful professional journey. The program was started with lamp lightning and saraswati vandana followed by floral welcome of Guest by Dean Academics Dr. Arunava Das.
Mr. Maheshwari emphasized several key aspects of career development, urging students to proactively prepare for the job market. He shared practical advice on Language and Communication. Mr. Maheshwari highlighted the importance of effective time management and proper planning, including creating a daily timetable to stay organized and productive. He advised students to cultivate a habit of reading newspapers daily to stay informed about current affairs and industry trends.
The session highlighted the significance of skill development, including problem-solving skills, which can be honed through hands-on experience like internships. He also mentioned various websites for online courses to facilitate continuous learning. Mr. Maheshwari provided a comprehensive guide on how to prepare for jobs. He advised students to read good books, travel and explore new opportunities, connect with people, develop good report writing skills, and improve their general awareness and legal literacy.
A core part of the session was dedicated to the value of internships. Mr. Maheshwari encouraged students to focus on offline internships to gain direct, practical experience. He also differentiated between the public and private sector job markets, helping students understand the advantages of each.
He highlighted the importance of self-motivation for improved performance in examinations and stressed the value of both on-job training and on-campus training in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements. His message resonated deeply with the students, inspiring them to take charge of their career paths with dedication and proper planning.
