HOD's Message
Welcome to the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication at Mandsaur University, a place
where young minds transform into confident communicators, responsible storytellers, and future-ready
media professionals.
Situated in the culturally rich Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh, our university carries the
responsibility of empowering students from rural and semi-urban backgrounds with modern media
education. In an era where information moves faster than ever, journalism is not just a career—it is a
commitment to truth, society, and positive change. Our department ensures that students from this
region, regardless of their starting point, receive the same opportunities, exposure, and training as
those studying in major metropolitan cities.
We believe that every story matters, especially the stories emerging from villages, towns, farms,
grassroots communities, and local cultures. Our department encourages students to explore these
narratives and present them to the world through journalism, filmmaking, photography, radio,
advertising, and digital media.
With state-of-the-art studios (TV & RADIO), industry-oriented curriculum, hands-on teaching
methods, and continuous mentorship from experienced faculty and industry professionals, we create
an environment where learning goes beyond the classroom. Students participate in live reporting,
media production, field assignments, internships, and campus-based media activities that prepare
them for real-world challenges.
Our mission is not only to teach media skills but to instill values of integrity, creativity, critical
thinking, and social responsibility. We take pride in watching our students grow into confident
individuals who contribute meaningfully to society and build successful careers in journalism,
broadcasting, public relations, advertising, digital content creation, and various new-age media fields.
I invite you to join us, explore your potential, and become part of a department that believes in
transforming rural talent into global achievers. Together, let us shape voices that inspire change.
