Brief description/ Remarks:
A 7-day Crocheting Workshop was conducted for the 2nd-year students of the Fashion Design Department, led by internal faculty from 10th to 16th September, 2024. The workshop aimed to teach students various crochet stitches, enhance their creativity, and introduce them to practical crochet applications in fashion design.
Workshop Details:
The first highlight was the introduction to essential crochet tools and techniques, where students learned basic stitches such as Chain, Slip Stitch, Single Crochet, and Double Crochet, providing them with a solid foundation. The second highlight was the exploration of advanced crochet techniques allowing students to create textured patterns and intricate designs.
Lastly, the workshop emphasized practical application, where students worked on individual projects like crochet bags, scarves, and decorative pieces. This hands-on approach enabled them to experiment with their creativity and produce functional crochet articles, which were displayed at the end of the workshop.
Outcome:
- Skill Development: Students mastered various crochet techniques and applied them to real projects.
- Creativity: The workshop fostered creativity in designing unique fashion accessories.
- Confidence: Students gained confidence in working with crochet to create functional fashion items.
