ADVANCED ATHLETICS WORKSHOP

The Mandsaur Institute of Physical Education, Mandsaur University organized a two-day Advanced Athletics Workshop on 17–18 March (09:00 AM – 05:00 PM) for the students of B.P.Ed. and B.P.E.S. programs. The workshop was conducted under the expert guidance of Mr. Mukesh Bhatewara, an experienced athletics expert, with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to athletics ground marking, officiating procedures, and general technical aspects of track and field events.

During the workshop, students were introduced to the basic structure of athletics competitions, rules and regulations, and responsibilities of officials. The expert provided practical demonstrations on track lane marking (100m and 200m), starting and finishing lines, relay exchange zones, and marking of sectors for field events such as Shot Put, Discus Throw, and Javelin Throw using standard measurement techniques.

Students also learned about officiating procedures including the duties of track judges, field judges, timekeepers, and recorders, along with practical exposure to timekeeping, result recording, and measurement procedures. The workshop further included guidance on general athletics techniques, safety measures, and coordination required for organizing athletics activities.

The program was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Shamsher Singh, Principal, Mandsaur Institute of Physical Education. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Surendra Singh Agraiya, Assistant Professor, and the Organizing Secretary was Mr. Kushagra Bairagi, Assistant Professor, ensuring smooth execution and active participation of the students.Overall, the workshop contributed to skill development, practical learning, and professional understanding of athletics officiating and ground preparation among the students.
