11th INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA CELEBRATION

The Mandsaur Institute of Physical Education, Mandsaur University, celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2025 with great zeal and active participation from students and faculty members. The event, titled “Yog Sangam,” was organized in accordance with UGC and Ministry of AYUSH guidelines.

The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the welcome and felicitation of the guests. The distinguished guests were Dr. V.S.S. Kumar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Mandsaur University, and Dr. Bhushan Kekre, renowned Yoga Expert.
Dr. Rohit Sharma welcomed and presented a bouquet to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. V.S.S. Kumar, while Dr. Ramsundar Sharma (HOD JMC) felicitated Yoga Expert Dr. Bhushan Kekre with a bouquet.

Following the welcome, a brief introduction to the history and evolution of International Yoga Day was presented — highlighting its inception from the UN declaration on 11th December 2014 to the global celebrations on 21st June each year.

The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. V.S.S. Kumar, addressed the gathering and spoke about the significance of yoga in everyday life, praising the efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji in popularizing yoga worldwide. He also recalled the vision of Swami Vivekananda, whose teachings on spiritual well-being and self-discipline align with yogic philosophy.

The practical session began with a yoga prayer, conducted by Mr. Kushagra Bairagi, Assistant Professor, MIPE. This was followed by a motivational and practical yoga session led by Dr. Bhushan Kekre, who emphasized adopting 15 minutes of daily yoga, maintaining good health habits, ensuring adequate sleep, and caring for one’s body just like we care for machines and vehicles.

A total of 185 students participated in the event. Everyone enthusiastically took part in the yoga practice, including Surya Namaskar, asanas, and breathing exercises, experiencing both physical and mental rejuvenation under expert guidance.

At the end of the session, Dr. Rohit Sharma, Associate Professor, expressed a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all involved.

The entire program was anchored by Student Coordinator Ms. Komal Khiriya (B.P.Ed) and Ms. Riya Katara (B.P.E.S), who conducted the proceedings with confidence and clarity.

The event was conducted under the supervision of Dr Shamsher singh (Principal) &  Dr. Rohit Sharma, Associate Professor, MIPE, and efficiently coordinated by (IDY 2025  Event Coordinator) Mr. Kushagra Bairagi, Assistant Professor. Dr. Himanshu Saxena and Dr. Surendra Singh Agraiya, Assistant Professors, served as assistant coordinators. The meticulous planning, disciplined execution, and active participation contributed to the grand success of the program.
