Alumni Interaction
The Department of Life Sciences, Mandsaur University has organized an Alumni Interaction on 25.08.2026 for the students of Life Sciences. The alumnus for the interaction was Mr. Aman Khan, presently working as Young Professional-II, Division of Genetics and Plant Breeding, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, IARI, New Delhi (M.Sc. Biotechnology Alumni 2023 Batch).
He shared his academic and professional journey with the students, particularly highlighting his transition from B.Sc. to M.Sc. He discussed about his experiences during his academic years and explained how the knowledge, skills, and exposure gained in the department contributed to his personal and professional development. During the interaction, Mr. Khan emphasized the importance of practical learning alongside theoretical knowledge. He encouraged students to actively participate in practical classes and make the most of laboratory and field-based experiences, as these help in developing technical skills and a better understanding of concepts.
He also highlighted the importance of participating in webinars, guest lectures, workshops, seminars, and other academic activities. According to him, such activities provide students with exposure to recent developments, enhance their knowledge beyond the prescribed curriculum, and help them understand the expectations of the professional world. He encouraged students to remain curious and continuously update their skills.
Another important aspect discussed during the session was the importance of attending regular classes. Mr. Khan explained that consistent classroom attendance helps students maintain continuity in their studies, understand concepts more effectively, interact with teachers, and develop discipline and a responsible approach toward academics. He also discussed the challenges faced by graduates in the present era, including increasing competition, changing requirements of the job market, the need for technical and communication skills, and the importance of adapting to new technologies and developments. He advised students to overcome these challenges by continuously learning, developing practical and professional skills, participating in extracurricular and academic activities, building confidence, and staying updated with current trends in their respective fields.
At last he interacted with the students, the interaction was highly informative and motivating for the students. It provided them with a realistic perspective on the journey from undergraduate education to higher studies and professional life. The experiences and guidance shared by Mr. Aman Khan encouraged students to make better use of the opportunities available to them during their academic journey.
Overall, the alumni interaction was a valuable and enriching experience, bridging the gap between academic learning and professional expectations.
