Brief description/Remarks: 

The World AIDS Day 2024 program, with the theme “Take the Rights Path: My Health, My Right,” was organized to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, emphasize health as a human right, and encourage informed, respectful choices in the community. The event, hosted by the Red Ribbon Club and Social Awareness & Environment Sustenance Club of Mandsaur University, saw the participation of students, faculty members, and notable guests from the community. 

Key Highlights

  • Guest SpeakersMr. Rajesh Rajak (NACO Officer, CMHO, Mandsaur) and Mrs. Deepti Shahu (HIV/AIDS Counselor, CMHO, Mandsaur). The event featured enlightening sessions by these experts on HIV/AIDS awareness, the importance of health rights, and combating misconceptions around HIV.
  • Symbolic Amla Sapling Presentation – In a gesture of health and resilience, Amla saplings were presented to the guests and key coordinators. These saplings symbolized the collective commitment to health, growth, and hope, to be nurtured and planted on campus as a reminder of the day’s purpose.
  • Opening Remarks – The seminar began with a motivational speech by Mr. Dayashankar Singh, NSS Program Coordinator, who emphasized the importance of collaboration and awareness in combating the HIV/AIDS crisis.
  • Seminar – Mr. Rajesh Rajak shared insights on:
    • The current status of HIV/AIDS awareness in the community.
    • The role of health rights in fighting stigma.
    • Engaging youth in preventive and educational programs. Mrs. Deepti Shahu discussed practical approaches to overcoming societal misconceptions and promoting safe practices in sexual health.
  • Discussion Session – An interactive Q&A session followed the seminar, where participants raised questions and discussed key issues. Notably, Mr. Singh asked, “How can one say ‘No’ politely to unprotected sex?” to which the speakers emphasized the importance of assertive communication and mutual respect.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the guest speakers, volunteers, and participants for their contribution to the success of the program. The closing message focused on health as a right, not a privilege, urging everyone to continue advocating for health equity and inclusivity.

Outcome:The World AIDS Day 2024 program, themed “Take the Rights Path: My Health, My Right,” was attended by 80 participants, 6 faculty members and 3 RRC/NSS volunteers (Mr. Paras Adaniya, Mr. Umesh Dangi and Mr. Narayan Patidar) and successfully raised awareness about HIV/AIDS, promoted health rights, and dispelled societal myths. Guest speakers Mr. Rajesh Rajak and Mrs. Deepti Shahu shared valuable insights, empowering attendees to address stigma, advocate for informed choices, and adopt healthy practices. The symbolic Amla sapling presentations reinforced a commitment to resilience and health. The event fostered open dialogue through an engaging Q&A session and inspired participants to champion inclusivity and equity in health, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
